Element -

A former bank, Goth den and strip club, the pre-Element incarnations have seen their fair share of upper- and lower-crust sleaze. In its latest rebirth, this 10,000sf giant has resurfaced as the latest club messiah to hit the crossland of the LES and East Village. The DJ line-up caters to both the post-punk/electro hipsterati and the soulful, funkalicious househeads. In either case, Element revives a vibrant history many New Yorkers seem to have forgotten.

Not impressed
There's something very annoying about certain clubs in New York where DJ's will play 30 seconds of every song. Today's party at the Element was no exception - by the time you get into the groove of the current song, the DJ switches to another song. Very LAME.

At least the crowd was very positive, and mostly went with it, except during some of the more intense Latin music the DJ decided to play - people were just standing there, waiting for the music to change to something more danceable...

Great place
Definitely an excellent place to get your dance on, very diverse crowd...you can still even find vamps and goths like in the old days on certain nights.
